Analysis of Ionospheric and Geomagnetic Response to the 2020 Patagonian Solar Eclipse

چکیده

Total solar eclipses are unique opportunities to study how the ionospheric and external geomagnetic field responds fast changes in ionizing flux as moon’s shadow travels through its path over ionosphere at an average speed of 3,000 km/h. In this contribution, we describe our observing campaign which set up GNSS stations city Valcheta, Río Negro, Argentina (which was located right under totality). We also results obtained from analysis combination on-site data together with publicly available observations geodetic observatories. The large span latitude allowed us analyze different magnitudes drop vertical total electron content (?VTEC) varying occultation percentages. found expected reduction move away totality but detected a new increment ?VTEC got closer Earth’s Magnetic Equator. compared variations predictions that were based on Ashour-Chapman model find overall good agreement, although ?20 min delay eclipse maximum is evident beyond uncertainties. This suggests presence processes response lower loss photoionization flux.

Solar eclipse effect on geomagnetic induction parameters

The 11 August 1999 total solar eclipse had been studied using a large array of stations in Central Europe (Bencze et al., 2005). According to the result of this study, the amplitudes of the field line resonance (FLR)-type pulsations decreased in and around the dark spot by about a factor of 2, and this decrease moved with the velocity of the dark spot in the same direction. This decrease was in...

Dayside ionospheric response to recurrent geomagnetic activity during the extreme solar minimum of 2008

[1] Global observations of electron density profiles from the COSMIC satellites are used to investigate, for the first time, the altitudinal dependence of the ionospheric response to the recurrent geomagnetic activity at different latitudinal regions during the extreme solar minimum period of 2008. Our results show that the 9-day oscillations in NmF2 are out of phase with those in Kp at high la...

Using the ionospheric response to the solar eclipse on 20 March 2015 to detect spatial structure in the solar corona.

The total solar eclipse that occurred over the Arctic region on 20 March 2015 was seen as a partial eclipse over much of Europe. Observations of this eclipse were used to investigate the high time resolution (1 min) decay and recovery of the Earth's ionospheric E-region above the ionospheric monitoring station in Chilton, UK. At the altitude of this region (100 km), the maximum phase of the ecl...

Ionospheric response to total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 in different Indian regions

The variability of ionospheric response to the total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 has been studied analyzing the GPS data recorded at the four Indian low-latitude stations Varanasi (100 % obscuration), Kanpur (95 % obscuration), Hyderabad (84 % obscuration) and Bangalore (72 % obscuration). The retrieved ionospheric vertical total electron content (VTEC) shows a significant reduction (reflecte...

the analysis of the role of the speech acts theory in translating and dubbing hollywood films
